Shadows
Unsure of the steps to take,
What should I do?
Do I take the leap of faith?
Or do I stay in the shadows?
My throat squeezed shut strangling the whispers
of dreams that may never actually transpire.
Will I leave this hole of despair and worry?
Or do I stay in the shadows?
Do I belong in this world?
Am I who I think I am?
Am I worthy to take this risk?
Or do I stay in the shadows?
It is quite easy to give advice to others,
be encouraging and push to do what
they must do but when is it my turn,
do I stay in the shadows?
How can I grow?
When words beat me down remind me I am nothing,
Sliced open with the double edge sword of tongues.
I stay in the shadows.
However, to have a shadow.
You need light, the one that burns deep inside
Of yourself with the wonderment that bloom you from the start.
You create the shadow.
As you take the leap of faith
Dive right into the sea of words
And submit to the mind
You burn the shadow.
